Malawi is a country in southwest Africa. Its population is predominantly rural, and it is one of the least developed countries in the world.

A significant part of the rural population lacks running water, and, according to a Portuguese couple who recently traveled to Malawi, it is common to see children selling water in plastic bags. “The few wells located near the villages are built by development assistance programs,” the bloggers added. It is also normal to see Malawi women carrying buckets of water on their heads.

NGOs have been instrumental in creating resources and bringing humanitarian aid to Malawi. Pump Aid is an NGO focusing on extremely poor communities; its mission is to provide access to drinking water and improve local sanitation systems.

Social responsibility is a part of Inspira’s identity and, in collaboration with Pump Aid, we sponsor the construction of water pumps in Malawi. A new water pump has been recently built, totaling six water pumps in six different Malawi locations.

This is one of the projects in which we are involved, inspiring us to continue with the motto “Doing the Right Thing”.
